Viva Tacoma open in new Proctor location

Viva Tacoma, one of few fully vegan restaurants in the area, has moved into its new digs in Tacoma’s Proctor neighborhood at 2620 N. Proctor.

Viva will operate in the same building that previously housed La Fondita Mexican Restaurant and Cantina, the longtime Mexican restaurant run for 20 years by Willie Ceria. Ceria now operates Ruca Food Truck, which serves Tuesdays at the Delightful Neighborhood Market and at other locations. Ceria’s menu features the lively Mexican cooking he featured at his Proctor restaurant. His menu includes tacos, enchiladas verdes and enchiladas de mole

Viva opened in 2014 in a much smaller location at 2602 N. Proctor, just steps away from its new home at 2620 N. Proctor. It quickly became known for its menu that intersects vegan and raw cuisine. The restaurant also specializes in gluten-free dining. Its new digs are much more spacious.

Along with Quickie Too, in Tacoma’s Hilltop neighborhood, Viva’s specialty is feasting on only plant-based foods.
