Looking for brunch? Clearly, Puyallup is going to be the destination for brunch today. Several members of Where to Dine Pierce County asked for recommendations for brunch on New Year’s Day (because clearly they’re starting the day right). Here’s what I found was open –
Merdian Cafe, home to my favorite cinnamon rolls in downtown Puyallup, is ready for brunch diners with giant bloody Mary cocktails. Details are here. Location: 213 N, Meridian, Puyallup; 253-604-7612; meridiancafepuyallup.com
Mrs. Turner’s in downtown Puyallup is open. Here are details. If you order anything, make it the Swedish pancakes. They’re tops. Location: 701 E. Main, Puyallup; 253-848-7761
West Pioneer Grill in downtown Puyallup reports they are ready for brunch duty. They’re also home to my favorite Benedict in Puyallup – the Latin Benedict built on sopes and served with ranchero sauce. More details on brunch here. Location: 109 W. Pioneer Ave., Puyallup; 253-604-4507
Tim’s Kitchen in South Hill is also open. Their Orting location is open as well. More information here. What to order? Chicken and waffles, of course. Puyallup location: 12615 Meridian E., Puyallup; 253-446-6750. Orting location: 114 Washington Ave. S., Orting; 360-893-8003
Looking for another great place for breakfast goods? Tacoma Baking Company is opening in Tacoma’s Hilltop neighborhood on January 4! Even better – they bought equipment from recently closed Cascade Bagel in Lakewood and even hired some of the staff members. Read more here!
