Here’s a first look at Berliner Beerhall in downtown Tacoma. Check out the schnitzel and 20 German beers
The Berliner Beerhall went from a derelict building to a downtown Tacoma destination. It took about 7 years to get there and what a ride it has been. And now it is opening. Check the restaurant’s social media for the particulars (as always, soft opening hours often are unpredictable). For background, you definitely want to read this story.
The 150-seat restaurant and bar is a modern take on a German beer hall and it will open at 2401 Pacific Ave in the Historic Brewery District. The menu intersects American and German cuisine and 20 taps will be devoted to German beer. While the taps will be flowing at the opening, expect the menu to fluctuate during the fledgling days.
What diners should know about the space is that it is absolutely gorgeous. I met with owners Dennis and Lydia Mascarinas on Wednesday to take a tour through the restaurant. I was blown away by the space. Here is a photo tour of my experience.
